Red-Hot Rashford Keeps United’s Fire Burning

The striker has now scored 13 goals since the World Cup

If you had to name one player who’s been vital to Man United’s campaign this season, few will argue with Marcus Rashford’s inclusion.

Sure, Casemiro has been a revelation in midfield since his arrival in the summer, but Rashford’s goals have almost singlehandedly been responsible for the Red Devil’s recent run of form.

He was on the scoresheet again as United defeated Leeds 2-0 at Elland Road, to move to within five points of EPL leaders Arsenal.

It was his 21st goal of the season in all competitions, and his 13th strike in 15 matches since returning from the World Cup.

The England international is now just one goal shy of his best-ever scoring season for United, with plenty of matches still to come for him to better his tally.

Career-wise, Rashford is now on 114 goals for United…putting him 19th on the club’s all-time scorers list.

No surprises then, that United boss Erik Ten Hag has labelled him one of the best strikers in Europe at the moment.

Some have even suggested that with the 25-year-old on such a hot streak, United may stand an outside chance of actually battling Arsenal and Man City for the league title.

All this makes it absolutely crucial that United move fast to secure Rashford’s future. His current deal expires at the end of next season, and there has been no shortage of overseas interest.

The usual suspects like PSG and Real Madrid have been circling overhead…ready to pounce the moment there is the slightest indication of a breakdown in contract negotiations.

With such close attention from high-profile suitors, United will likely have to make Rashford their highest-paid player in order to hold on to him, with a salary of around 400,000 pounds per week.

Based on his performances thus far, though, that may prove to be money well spent.
