A man drowned while trying to stop his car from sliding into the sea, near a beach on Jalan Teluk Senangin in Lumut.
According to BERNAMA, Perak and Fire Department spokesman said the 31-year-old man had been wedged by his car as he was trying to stop it from sliding down towards the water on Thursday night (September 15).

“We received an emergency call at 11:35 pm.
“Members of the public had already pulled him out of the waters when our team arrived,” he said in a statement.
Medical staff from Seri Manjung Hospital confirmed his death and his body has been turned over to the police.
Firefighters carefully sized up the area to make sure there were no other threats and also unplugged the cables from the car battery to avoid any further incidents.
The operation was completed at around 1:45 am on Saturday (16 September).
