According to BERNAMA, the Penang Education Department (JPN) said the decision was made after their school met with the students and their parents on Saturday (18 February) to discuss the issue.

They said in a statement: “They (the students) will be involved in community service as part of character strengths intervention and immediate measures will be taken to ensure no repeat of such cases.”

Penang JPN continued saying, “We truly regret the incident that has happened and will make sure that this issue is given serious attention by the school.”

A video of the students laughing while they destroy the school’s classroom doors, kicking chairs and trying to break a ceiling fan has since gone viral online.

The department added that damages are still being looked into and that the department takes gangsterism and vandalism in schools very seriously, “Schools are always advised to keep their eyes open for such destructive behaviours.”

Ahh, this is so bad!

Vandalism is NOT okay! It is a crime and you will get in trouble with the police. You could be arrested depending on how bad the criminal damage is.

…and yes, the school will tell your parents. That’s even scarier!
