A woman died while two others were injured following an accident involving five vehicles reported at KM129 on the North-South Highway (PLUS), northbound, on Wednesday (Oct 26th).
Operations Commander from the Yong Peng Fire and Rescue Station (BBP), Senior Fire Officer II Mohd Hafiz Othman, said the 5.57pm incident involved a Volvo container lorry, a Volvo trailer, a Proton Saga car, a Toyota Vios car and a Nissan Almera car.
"The female victim who was a passenger in the Proton Saga, Ang Zi Yan, 28, was trapped while the driver, an adult man, was injured," he said in a statement on Thursday (Oct 27th).
He said the fire department removed the trapped victim using special equipment before being confirmed dead at the scene by medical personnel.
The driver of the Volvo container truck, Muhamad Azrul Khamis, 40, was also injured.
Accident clearance works ended at around 8.10pm.
