Datuk Seri Ab Rauf Yusoh, the Melaka State Chief Minister, took to Facebook to share the concept of cycling paramedics, also known as community paramedics, aimed at expediting first aid services at tourist hotspots for individuals in need of emergency medical assistance.

In his social media post, he elucidated, "What exactly is a community paramedic? It's an initiative by the Melaka State Government catering to tourists and visitors. Where else but in Melaka!"

In a video presentation, Ab Rauf Yusoh outlined the establishment of a medical station from which the community paramedics will operate. These trained professionals will carry medical equipment in specially designed bags as they patrol the designated areas on bicycles.

Notably, they are equipped with an automated external defibrillator (AED) for addressing cardiac emergencies.

"These bags are stocked with essential emergency gear to provide immediate assistance before transferring the patient to the hospital," he emphasised.
