The aim is to give free travel benefits to the OKU community on all trains and buses run by Prasarana.
The OKU Smile pass is open to both existing Prasarana OKU cardholders and those applying for the first time.
Existing cardholders can get the OKU Smile pass at different places, including Rapid KL LRT, MRT, Monorail, BRT, and selected bus hub counters starting January 15th, 2024.
These counters are in locations like Pasar Seni, Chow Kit, KLCC, Sri Nilam, Puchong Utama, Pearl Point, Sunway Pyramid, Greenwood, and Seksyen 2 Shah Alam for Rapid KL. Rapid Penang and Rapid Kuantan also have counters in multiple locations.
Cardholders with expired cards will need to apply for a new one. New applicants must bring their ID card and OKU card from the Department of Social Welfare (JKM) for verification.
Rapid KL and Rapid Kuantan users can also apply online on their websites.
The introduction of the OKU Smile pass is a big step towards making public transportation inclusive and accessible in Malaysia, showing the country's commitment to improving the quality of life for everyone.
