According to The Star, China has officially reopened its borders on Sunday (8 January), and airport operators have revealed that 11 flights from the country were scheduled to land at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) and two flights at KLIA2.
MAHB also stated that many improvements had been made, including terminal facilities and services have been implemented in preparation for the influx of Chinese travellers.
As an alternative to the Aerotrain service, a total of 16 shuttle buses are running continuously to ensure smooth passenger movements between the satellite and main terminal buildings.
In a statement released yesterday, it added that there will be helpdesks staffed by airport staff who speak Mandarin.

Concerned about the rise in COVID-19 cases across China, MAHB said it would work closely with the Health Ministry of Malaysia (MOH) and other pertinent organizations to protect the health of all passengers.
The statement also said that the health safety precautions at airports, which have been in place since the outbreak, "will continue to be diligently and faithfully implemented."
Following the easing of travel restrictions by the Chinese government, it is expected that the number of travellers will rise even further this year.
