This groundbreaking move will grant KTM Komuter passengers the flexibility to utilise a variety of payment methods, ranging from traditional credit and debit cards to modern e-wallets, ensuring a seamless transaction experience for commuters.
The official launch of this initiative was held at KTM Ipoh Square, spearheaded by Transport Minister Anthony Loke.
While KTM Berhad has clarified that the Electric Train Service (ETS) will maintain its requirement for online ticket purchases, Minister Loke highlighted the efficiency of the new system, citing transaction processing times of just one to five seconds. This marks a significant enhancement in service delivery.
Minister Loke emphasised the importance of this development in enhancing user experience, stating, "This new facility provides KTMB users with a more convenient ticket payment method."
Passengers can now enjoy the convenience of utilising debit cards, credit cards, and Near Field Communication (NFC) modes such as Apple Pay and Samsung Pay, in addition to existing options like the KITS KTMB app and Touch 'n Go cards.
