This ranking is determined by over 13 million passenger surveys collected from more than 100 countries, covering factors such as check-in processes, security efficiency, dining options, comfort, and even washroom cleanliness.

Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) has made a significant leap in this year's rankings, climbing six spots to 65th place, a marked improvement from its position of 71st in 2024. This positive shift follows a period of decline, where KLIA's ranking had dropped from 62nd in 2022 to 67th in 2023, and then to 71st last year.

KLIA now ranks ahead of airports in cities such as Barcelona, Budapest, Adelaide, Hamburg, Atlanta, Osaka Itami, and Denpasar Bali. The improvement highlights the airport’s ongoing efforts to enhance the traveller experience.

Meanwhile, Singapore's Changi Airport reclaimed the top spot as the World's Best Airport for 2025, marking its 13th win in the history of the awards. It surpassed Qatar's Hamad International Airport, which had held the title in 2024.

The top five airports in the world for 2025 are as follows:

  1. Singapore Changi Airport

  2. Hamad International Airport (Qatar)

  3. Tokyo International Airport (Haneda), Japan

  4. Incheon International Airport, South Korea

  5. Narita International Airport, Japan

Changi Airport also took home several other accolades, including:

  1. Best Airport in Asia

  2. Best Airport for 60–70 million passengers

  3. Best Airport Dining Experience

  4. World's Best Airport Washrooms (yes, that’s officially a thing now)

Additionally, Crowne Plaza Changi Airport retained its title of World's Best Airport Hotel for the 10th consecutive year.

That’s not bad at all. With continuous improvements and dedication, who knows—KLIA could be on top in the near future.
