The number of flood victims in Johor increased to 2,912 as of midnight last night, Tuesday (24 January), up from 1,703 at 8 pm.
Mersing is the most recently affected district.

According to BERNAMA, the state disaster management committee announced the opening for 14 additional flood relief centers (PPS) in Kota Tinggi, Luang, Segamat and Mersing, bringing the total to 30.
“Segamat remains the district most affected by floods with 1,392 people from 393 families, currently housed in 13 relief centers.
Nine relief centers currently house 785 victims from 223 families in Kluang; 6 relief centers are housing 471 victims from 120 families in Kota Tinggi, and 2 relief centers currently have 264 people from 97 families in Mersing.
Several roads namely Jalan Senai-Gemas, Jalan Jabi-Bukit Tempurung and Jalan Ladang Siang in Kota Tinggi, as well as Jalan Lok Heng-Sungai Mas and Jalan Perani in Segamat have all been closed to all cars.
Meanwhile, four rivers have overflowed at a dangerous level, according to data from the Department of Irrigation and Drainage.
