A large metal piece believed to be debris from China’s Long March 5B rocket was recently found at a village on the Indonesian side of the Sarawak-West Kalimantan border.
The Borneo Post reported that the discovery was made at a new oil palm estate in Pengadang, a village in Sekayam District of the Kabupaten of Sanggau.
The district shares a border with the Tebedu District in the Serian Division of Sarawak.

Sanggau police chief AKBP Ade Kuncoro Ridwan stated that a report about the find was lodged at Sekayam District police station at around 8:30 am, or 9:30 am Malaysian time on Tuesday (August 1st).
Sekayam police then joined the villagers in conducting a check on the site, where the object was found. The metal piece measures around 5m long and 2m wide.
“We strongly advise everyone to not approach the location due to the suspected presence of a radioactive substance in the object,” he said adding that his t4eam would also coordinate with the West Kalimantan police in handling the situation.
