Recently, Malaysia introduced a trial period for the Open Payment System (OPS) on four highways: LDP (Damansara-Puchong Highway), KESAS, SPRINT, and SMART Expressway, allowing commuters to pay tolls using debit or credit cards.
Now, this payment method is expanding to include two more highways: the Guthrie Corridor Expressway (GCE) and the Ampang-Kuala Lumpur Elevated Expressway (AKLEH).

According to Datuk Mohammad Azlan Abdullah, the Chief Executive Officer of Kota Lintasan Holdings Sdn Bhd (PROLINTAS) Group, the Open Payment System (SPT) trial, which allows toll collection using debit cards, credit cards, or prepaid cards, is currently underway on these two highways.
This new payment option is available to Class One vehicle (car) users in lanes designated with special signs on the gantry. Azlan noted that the system would be rolled out at all three GCE Highway toll plazas, namely Bukit Jelutong Toll Plaza, Elmina Toll Plaza, and Lagong Toll Plaza, starting from September 13, 2023.
In the meantime, the Datuk Keramat Toll Plaza on Lebuhraya AKLEH has been accepting credit and debit card payments since September 9.
Azlan highlighted that this initiative aims to enhance convenience and flexibility for highway users by offering more toll payment choices.
This development is expected to contribute to the overall improvement of the country's highway industry.
