Without hesitation, a team of 14 dedicated rescuers, joined by colleagues from the APM stations in Kuala Lumpur and Gombak, rushed to the scene. The victim had descended into a sewage drain approximately 3.65 meters deep, making the rescue operation even more challenging.

For over an hour, these valiant rescuers tirelessly combed through the sewage facility in a determined effort to locate the missing individual. One photograph, provided by APM to Berita Harian, captures the moment when an official stretched his upper body into the foul-smelling drain, demonstrating the lengths to which these heroes are willing to go to save lives.

However, amidst their dedicated search, a surprising twist emerged. The missing 27-year-old Myanmar man suddenly appeared at the scene. He calmly explained that he was indeed the person who had fallen into the manhole while mowing the grass, accidentally stepping on a metal cover that concealed a sewage hole. In an astonishing display of resourcefulness, he had managed to cling to his lawnmower machine, using it to climb back to safety before returning home to clean himself up.

Following this unexpected revelation, the search operation was promptly called off at 7:30 pm. Remarkably, the Myanmar national emerged from this ordeal unscathed, having miraculously avoided any injuries from his fall into the sewage drain.

This incident serves as a reminder of the unwavering commitment of the Malaysian Civil Defence Force (APM) and its brave members who stand ready to risk their own health and safety at a moment's notice to protect and assist their community.

Their selflessness and dedication to the well-being of others are truly commendable, and we extend our heartfelt thanks and appreciation for their ongoing efforts to keep our communities safe.
