According to Berita Harian, this adjustment applies to schools with Muslim students and teachers. Schools in Peninsular Malaysia will end their afternoon sessions as early as 5:30pm, while in Sabah, Sarawak, and the Federal Territory of Labuan, afternoon classes will finish at 5:00pm. Morning school sessions, however, will continue as usual.
"KPM has established this schedule to ensure smooth school operations while allowing Muslim students and teachers to observe their religious practices comfortably during Ramadan," the ministry stated.
The ministry also addressed misinformation circulating on social media regarding school operations during Ramadan, warning the public against sharing unverified claims.
Additionally, KPM clarified that government and government-assisted schools under its jurisdiction will operate as usual throughout Ramadan, in line with Surat Siaran KPM Bilangan 3 Tahun 2022, which remains in effect.
Pengoperasian sekolah dalam bulan Ramadan akan berlangsung sama seperti dalam surat siaran sedia ada dan seperti tahun sebelum ini.
