Malaysia’s favourite Kitchen Queen Sugu Pavithra will be taking a break from all activities following her husband, M. Sugu’s arrest on Wednesday (22 July).

The couple’s manager, who preferred to not be named, through a WhatsApp message said: “The couple (Sugu and Pavithra) would like to take some time off and focus on their personal life and, hence, they would not be proceeding with any brand engagements for a few weeks,”.

Earlier, the Magistrate’s Court granted a three-day remand order against Sugu for allegedly abusing his wife.
The order, effective yesterday, is to facilitate investigations under Section 6(1) of the Corrosive and Explosive Substances and Offensive Weapons Act 1958.
According to BERNAMA, the incident occurred outside a labour room ward of the Raja Permaisuri Bainun Hospital when a policeman at the hospital’s guardhouse received a call at around 5.54 pm from a nurse claiming that a man, who was drunk, came to the ward carrying a sickle.

M. Sugu then had a dispute with his wife and he reportedly hit her outside the labour ward.
It was believed that the incident happened because of a misunderstanding between the couple regarding a function that took place in Ipoh on Monday (20 July).
Netizens continued to flood the couple’s YouTube channel with words of support and encouragement, and prayed that the couple would be patient in handling the pressure.
