You’re Not Allowed To Smoke, Vape and Drink In Selangor Parks Anymore

you’re not allowed to smoke, vape and drink in selangor parks anymore

If you’re guilty of ever smoking, vaping or drinking alcohol in a park, well, you can’t anymore if you’re in Selangor.

Selangor is now the first state in Malaysia to implement such a ban, after the local government moved to include outlawing drinking alcohol, smoking and vaping under its 2005 Parks By-Laws of local councils.

By-laws did not list smoking and the consumption of alcohol as prohibited activities at parks and playgrounds before this.

The new ruling also comes amid the Recovery Movement Control Order (RMCO), and these activities have been banned for health and hygiene reasons post-COVID-19.

Offenders could be fined up to RM1,000, and state officials have encouraged the public to lodge a report if they see anyone violating the ban.

The new prohibition is effective today, so be aware!
