A woman in Kuching, Sarawak safely gave birth to her baby at an MCO roadblock, with the help of two policewomen along the Jalan Expressway Kuching-Samarahan on Friday (June 11th).
According to the New Straits Times, Sarawak police commissioner Datuk Aidi Ismail said the woman and her husband were travelling from Kampung Semera Ulu, heading to the Sarawak General Hospital.

He said that when the couple arrived at a traffic light near the roadblock, the woman told her husband that she could not wait and was about to give birth right there and then.
“The man, who was in his 20s, panicked and didn’t know what to do, so he decided to ask for help from the policemen manning the roadblock. Despite having to drive against traffic flow,” he said.
The couple arrived at the roadblock at 11:50 pm and were assisted by two policewomen.
The woman managed to deliver her baby 10 minutes later.
“The baby was wrapped in a clean towel and started to cry before mother and baby were taken to the hospital in an ambulance,” he added.
