Safawi Rasid is not a stranger in the local football community.

The 22-year old national team player, who also plays for Johor Darul Takzim (JDT), is always quick in helping his team to win every match, but his recent goal scored while representing JDT against Shandong Luneng for the 2019 AFC Champions League last April has everyone talking till today.
During the match, Safawi scored the game’s winning goal with his left foot from outside the penalty box. The goal made national news and was recently nominated for the AFC Champions League 2019 Best Goal Award.
10 nominees were selected, and it looks like Safawi has a really good chance of bagging this year’s title of AFC Championship League’s Best Goal!

Safawi currently holds 43 percent of the vote, with just 10% behind Iranian footballer Shojae Khalilzadeh of Persepolis, with his goal against Al Ahli.
