Robert Lewandowski is now the third-highest goal scorer in Champions League history, overtaking Real Madrid legend, Raul.

It comes after the Bayern Munich forward netted his 72nd goal in the competition in the 4-1 last-16 first leg win over Lazio.

What’s even more impressive is that Lewandowski needed only 95 matches to reach the tally.

As it stands, only two other players have scored more than him in the Champions League.

Cristiano Ronaldo leads the all-time list with 134 goals in Europe’s elite club competition, and he’s followed closely by his long-time rival Lionel Messi, who has scored 119 times.

But don’t rule out Lewandowski closing the gap on CR7 and Leo.

The 32-year-old has been in top-form for Bayern this season with 32 goals in 31 games across all competitions, and is almost certain to add more to his tally.

Plus, there should be more opportunities to get on the scoresheet again, with Bayern now almost assured of a spot in the Champions League quarterfinals.
