[UPDATE] Congratulations, Datuk Nicol David!
The eight-time world champion, Nicol Ann David has been crowned the World Games' Greatest Athlete of All Time award.
The 37-year-old squash legend was by far the popular choice as she tallied a whopping 318,943 votes, beating runner-up, Ireland's tug-of-war athlete, James Kehoe with 113,120 votes.

According to Stadium Astro, the Malaysian squash queen, who called time on her professional career in 2019, is the only Asian among the 24 athletes shortlisted for the honour.
The 37-year-old memorably won three gold medals and one bronze at the World Games, which hosts non-Olympic sports and events such as squash, floorball, lacrosse, sumo, and Muay Thai.
...and Malaysians are going all out to vote for her! So far, Nicol David has 118,689 votes and counting, since the page went live!
The 24 candidates are from all editions of the World Games’ 40-year history, and they represent 24 different sports, as nominated by their International Federations.
On January 20th, 10 candidates with the most votes will continue in the race, and the World Games Greatest Athlete of All Time will be crowned on February, 1st. So keep voting for her, Malaysians!
