It looks like it may be best to stay away from mamak restaurants for a while because recently, one mamak stall in Setapak had two of its workers test positive for COVID-19, and the establishment has been ordered to close temporarily by The Ministry of Health.

As reported by The Star, two of the mamak’s foreign employees were screened during a random exercise by district health officials on Saturday (August 15th).
Health Director-General, Datuk Dr. Noor Hisham Abdullah said in a statement that the Ministry would be doing further investigations and taking additional samples from the workers.
For the time being, the mamak has been ordered to close for two weeks for sanitation and cleaning works under the Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases Act 1988.
