Don’t panic, it was just a little shake…
Earlier today, tremors were felt in Kuala Lumpur and some parts of Selangor, namely Petaling Jaya, shaking buildings at around 1:19 pm today (August 11th).
According to the Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia), the earthquake measured 5.6 on the Richter scale.
The department also said that while tremors were felt around Kuala Lumpur and Selangor, there was no threat of a tsunami to Malaysia.

The last reported earthquake that struck Malaysia was in 2015 at Ranau, Sabah with a moment magnitude of 6.0 on June 5th, which lasted for 30 seconds.
The earthquake was the strongest to affect Malaysia since the 1976 Sabah earthquake.
