The PSV license test has been put into effect, but what happens when the drivers fail?

According to Transport Minister Anthony Loke, e-hailing drivers who fail the test more than three times will be given a verbal version in an attempt to help them obtain the PSV licenses.

"For those who (have) failed the exam more than three times, we will give a special examination to them. For some of them, their understanding in terms of reading might be inadequate, so we will test them verbally," he told the Dewan Rakyat on Wednesday.

He added that 91, 978 e-hailing drivers managed to obtain their PSV licenses as of 2 December, with 42,818 of them having failed.

"But this figure (42,818) is a cumulative figure and many of them have retaken and passed the examination,” Loke said, adding that there were 358,944 active PSV licenses with 28,860 of the license holders consisting of taxi drivers.

"For taxi drivers, they have a choice. Aside from being a traditional taxi driver, they can also use the e-hailing system," he said.

We sure hope more drivers will be able to get their licenses soon!
