There’s Now A 24-Hour Helpline For University Students

there’s now a 24-hour helpline for university students

The Higher Education Ministry has set up a special 24-hour helpline for university students, who may be having administrative issues continuing their studies amid the coronavirus pandemic.

This, after the Ministry “advised” all public universities to suspend physical intakes and registrations last Friday (October 2nd).

The helpline will entertain any questions related to the student intake for the 2020/2021 session, and of course, all things COVID-19.

On its official Facebook page, the Ministry said this helpline can be reached at 03-8870 6777 and 03-8870 6949 or via email, covid19kpt@mohe.gov.my.

The Ministry has also advised students not to purchase flight tickets if they have yet to do so, and to register online for their new intake instead.

As for students who have already bought flight tickets to fly to their university campuses, the Ministry suggests they directly contact the airlines’ customer service hotlines for flight rescheduling.

Meanwhile for private university students, those back on campus grounds since July should stay put, and physical classes will be allowed to carry on, provided SOPs are adhered to.

Those in their hometowns have been advised to stick to online classes.
