The Special One Could Be Facing The Sack At Tottenham

It would appear the clock is ticking for Jose Mourinho at Tottenham.

Their 2-1 EPL loss to West Ham was their fifth defeat in six league matches. It leaves the London club ninth in the standings.

Even Mourinho himself has admitted that a top-four finish is going to be extremely difficult this season.

All this leaves the Special One in a precarious position at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

There had already been talk before the West Ham game that Jose’s job was at risk.

Defeat to the Hammers now makes that speculation almost a certainty, with multiple sources saying he’s the favourite for the sack.

Spurs’ run of results also makes a grim personal milestone for Jose. During his 50 top-flight games with the club, he has amassed just 81 points.

That is the lowest tally from any of his previous managerial jobs.

He also has the lowest win percentage of any Spurs boss since Juande Ramos’s disastrous spell in 2008.

If the English media are to be believed, it’s already been decided that Mourinho no longer has a future at Tottenham, and the only question now is when, not if, he is sacked.

As for potential replacements, rumour has it Leicester’s Brendan Rodgers is one of those being considered.

Rodgers has done a solid job this season with the Foxes, who are currently third in the league standings.

RB Leipzig manager Julian Nagelsmann is another name being mentioned.
