Ten Individuals Arraigned In Court For Falsifying COVID-19 Digital Certificates

The ongoing COVID-19 vaccination drive and subsequent easing of restrictions for fully vaccinated individuals have turned the digital vaccination certificate into a valuable commodity.

COVID-19 digital certificate holders have the freedom to dine-in at restaurants, and participate in recreational activities in open areas. However, this “ticket to freedom” has resulted in a number of individuals finding ways to fake their COVID-19 vaccination by getting a forged certificate.

As reported by Astro AWANI, 10 individuals have been arraigned in court on charges of falsifying digital vaccine certificates, so far.

Out of the total, one individual in Sarawak was found guilty of the charge, said deputy Home Minister, Datuk Seri Ismail Mohamed Said.

“According to the breakdown of states, one case was recorded in Kelantan, two in Melaka, four in Sarawak, one in Perak and two in Sabah,” he said on Wednesday (September 25th).

He added that legal action will be taken under Section 22 (D) of the Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases Act 1988 (Act 342) against any individual who was found guilty falsifying the COVID-19 vaccine certificate

“Compounds will be imposed immediately if they are found guilty to save time and raise public awareness. At the same time, further investigations can be carried out in accordance with the provisions of existing law, which is either under Act 342 of the Penal Code,” he said.

This is so irresponsible!

Please do not falsify your digital vaccination cert and be sure to get an authentic one by getting fully vaccinated!
