Sports Direct Opens Elevated Superstore At Bangsar Village 3

Through continuous support of an expanding customer base, Sports Direct Malaysia opened its latest elevated store in the affluent Bangsar suburb of KL, at Bangsar Village 3.

The standalone store boasts a retail footprint of nearly 18,000 square feet and marks the 30th store in Malaysia since its establishment back in 2011.

Managing Director of Sports Direct Malaysia, Paul Gibbons said that the company is continuing to develop this new concept store as part as their elevation strategy to enhance the customer experience throughout their shopping journey – which aims to deliver unique value and variety but fresh, easy-to-shop format across their various sports and lifestyle zones.

There are currently 8 elevated stores open across the country in some of the largest shopping malls with 9 other various stages of planning due to open over the next 18 months – 3 of which will open before the end of April at Tropicana Garden Mall, One Utama Shopping Centre & Sunway Iskandar Big Box Johor.

He added that this new concept is important to maintain a close working relationship with all key brands and ensuring customers get the best available choice and services within a comfortable environment.

The new store opening also marked the company plans to take the concept overseas starting this year with stores planned in Singapore and discussions underway for Indonesia, Thailand and the Philippines.

The store is uniquely zoned by key sports categories which include; SD Football, SD Running, SD Training (fitness, cross training, gym equipment, weights, boxing, yoga), SD Rackets (badminton, tennis, squash), SD Swimming (pool, beach, water sports), SD Sports (basketball, rugby, extreme games, cycling, skates & indoor games), SD Lifestyle (Kids, Women & Men) & SD Outdoor (Hiking, trekking, camping & fishing).
