Cashless payments have been around for a long time, but it was always an available option to us.
Beginning mid-October, Grab will be disabling cash payments for GrabCar rides between 2am-6am in an attempt to improve safety.

Grab users will now be required to pay via their GrabPay wallet, which can be linked to their credit or debit cards. Grab wallet credits can also be topped up by online banking or card payment.
There have been many instances where Grab drivers were robbed in the early hours of the morning, and this initiative is a step forward to reduce the risks faced by Grab drivers. On top of that, cashless payments will also help to improve efficiency because both customers and drivers will not have to deal with small change.
What do you think of this initiative?
