Year end is approaching, and shops everywhere are giving discounts. We know many people go manic over the sales looking for a good gift for friends and family.
Here’s a gift from the Kuala Lumpur Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department - you get to settle your traffic summon at 50% off! This “promotion” will run from 24-26 December (very Christmassy, indeed!).
According to Kuala Lumpur Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department chief Asst Comm Zulkefly Yahya, the “Meet the Customers Day” event will go on from 8.30am till 4pm of the three aforementioned dates.
"We are offering a 50% discount for various types of traffic summonses. We hope that the public will use the opportunity to settle any outstanding summonses," he told The Star.

Some of the summonses which are eligible for the discount are non-compoundable and attached to ongoing trials, including those issued during Ops Selamat and for accidents. He added that similar discounts were also offered during the CNY celebrations this year.
"At that time, 1,600 people came forward to settle their summonses. We hope that more people will come forward this time. Offering discounts is one of our ways to encourage the people to settle their summonses before they are blacklisted," he added.
He had some advice - come early! Just like sale season, things can get pretty crowded.
