As of Sunday (27 September), a number of malls in Kuala Lumpur and Petaling Jaya have announced COVID-19 cases, raising concerns among those in the Klang Valley.
Most of the cases however, involved people who just returned from Sabah.

Last week, on Thursday (24 September), a parent of a child studying at Trinity Kids, which is located at The Linc KL on Jalan Tun Razak was reported to have tested positive for COVID-19.
In a statement by The Linc KL, it said: “The said child was on a half-day program until noon and last attended school on Thursday, 17 September.”
On Sunday (27 September), a mall in Kuala Lumpur, Suria KLCC confirmed in a statement that they were visited by a member of Babel Fit, who tested positive for COVID-19 on 23 September.

“Immediately upon confirmation of the case, thorough sanitisation and disinfection exercise was carried out at Babel and its surrounding area. Having said this, the MOH advised Babel that they could resume their operations when the sanitisation and disinfection exercise is completed. At the same time,” they said in the statement.
They added: “Suria KLCC continues to take proactive and preventive measures to maintain high levels of cleanliness and hygiene throughout the mall.”
NU Sentral shopping centre was the next mall to confirm that one of their workers had tested positive for COVID-19 yesterday (27 September).
The management has assured the public that it has since sanitised the entire mall as a precaution.

NU Sentral Mall added that the Health Ministry had immediately carried out contact tracing including other management staff who underwent COVID-19 tests, with the first batch of results all returning negative.
Meanwhile, in the Sunway area, a worker at a retail outlet in Sunway Pyramid mall was suspected for COVID-19. According to their Facebook post, immediate disinfection of the mall has been carried out.

The caption said: “25/9 Friday - Sunway Pyramid Mall Management was made aware verbally by Nike outlet that one of their staff is suspected to be COVID19 positive at 6 pm.”

Meanwhile, KL Gateway Mall made an announcement of an individual who was a suspected COVID-19 patient after returning from Sabah, but has since tested negative.
“The shopping mall shall continue with all the routine cleaning and disinfection process as your safety and well-being are utmost priority,” they said in the statement.
The public has taken to Twitter to raise awareness about the importance of maintaining physical distancing when in public places, including actress Diana Danielle.
