Sergio Ramos has made yet another entry into the Real Madrid history books.

The captain scored his 100th goal for the club in the 3-2 Champions League win over Inter Milan, becoming the highest-scoring defender in Los Blancos’ history.

Ramos is also only the 19th Real player to hit triple figures in terms of goals.

In fact, his tally for club and country now stands at 128, making him one of the most prolific defensive players in football, period.

Ramos hit the century mark for Real in 659 appearances, for an average of a goal every six games or so, and he’s scored at least once in every one of his 16 seasons at the Bernabéu.

That’s a strike-rate most forwards can’t even achieve.

But where does Ramos stand among some of the other high-scoring defenders in world football?

He only comes in at sixth place in the all-time list, behind Graham Alexander (130), Laurent Blanc (153), Fernando Hierro (163), Daniel Passarella (175) and Ronald Koeman (253).

However, don’t rule out Ramos moving further up that list, because he’s showing absolutely no signs of slowing down – remaining a key figure in the Real Madrid first team, even at the age of 34.
