According to the Ministry of Health (MOH), this is the second consecutive day of four-digit cases, as Selangor overtook Sabah as the single state with the highest number of new COVID-19 cases and the highest daily figure for the most populous state since the pandemic started earlier this year.
Health Director-General Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah told The Edge Markets that 536 cases in the state were from existing clusters, while 39 cases were detected from other COVID-19 screenings.

The Klang Valley, which comprises Selangor, Kuala Lumpur, and Putrajaya, has a total of 634 cases, where KL has 30 cases and Putrajaya has one.
Sabah is the second state with the highest number of cases with 311, of which 139 cases were detected from screening of close contacts of COVID-19 positive patients.
Of the 1,096 cases reported yesterday, only six were imported.
Meanwhile, the ministry reported three more deaths related to COVID-19 which pushed Malaysia’s death toll to 335.
