Sarawak Reports Highest Number Of Fatality Due To COVID-19 Compared To Other States

Malaysia reported 84 deaths due to COVID-19 on Tuesday (October 26th), including 20 brought-in-dead (BID) cases.

According to NST, Sarawak remained the state with the highest fatalities with 19 deaths reported including 6 BIDs, followed by Sabah that logged 16 deaths including 10 BIDs and Perak with 12 deaths, 1 BID.

Selangor recorded eight deaths, Terengganu (7), Johor (6), Kelantan (5), Melaka, Pahang, Penang and Kuala Lumpur (1), while no fatalities were recorded in the other states. 

A total of 92 deaths were reported on Monday.

Data also revealed that 46.5% of the 715 reported deaths in the past 14-days were fully vaccinated, 45.2% were unvaccinated and 8.3% of them were partially vaccinated. 

The number of cases in all states were below the 1,000 mark, however, Selangor remained the state with the most number of daily COVID-19 cases reported at 929, followed by Sarawak (713) and Kelantan (685).
