The latest honour comes after the player also won the Playmaker of the Season, Football Writers’ Association and Fans’ Player of the Year awards.

Salah is now only the seventh male player to win the PFA prize twice after Mark Hughes, Alan Shearer, Thierry Henry, Cristiano Ronaldo, Gareth Bale and Kevin De Bruyne.

Meanwhile, Man City’s Phil Foden won the Young Player of the Year award for the second consecutive season.

He joins an illustrious list of former stars including Ryan Giggs, Robbie Fowler and Wayne Rooney to win back-to-back prizes.
