A total of 866 individuals out of the 3,224 COVID-19 positive cases that were recorded in Sabah yesterday (August 25th) were teengers and children aged 17-years-old and below.

According to Astro AWANI, state COVID-19 spokesman, Datuk Masidi Manjun said of the total, 565 were aged six to 17-years old, 268 are one to 5-years-old, while 33 of them are younger than a year old.
“Until yesterday, 53.9% of Sabah’s adult population had received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine while another 32.5% had completed both doses,” he said.
The other 2,119 positive cases recorded yesterday were aged between 18 and 59 while 239 are senior citizens aged 60-years-old and older.
Masidi also added that all districts in Sabah recorded a change in the number of positive cases, which continued to increase with Kota Kinabalu recording the highest number of cases at 630, followed by Penampang (413) and Tuaran (348).

“A total of 2,098 cases were recorded from close contact screening, which can be concluded that there is still a high probability of non-compliance of the SOPs.”
The number of cases recorded on Wednesday brought the total cumulative number in Sabah to 131,030 cases, while a total of 2,020 COVID-19 patients recovered on the same day, bringing the cumulative number to 101,624.
