Ronaldo Steals The Headlines Again With Last-Gasp Winner For United

Cristiano Ronaldo’s dream return to Man United continues.

This time, the Portuguese superstar netted an injury-time winner to give the Red Devils a 2-1 victory over Villarreal in the Champions League.

It means he has now scored in four of the five matches in all competitions that he’s featured in since returning to Old Trafford from Juventus.

His impact has not been lost on United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, who was full of praise for his star player.

“When you have Cristiano on the pitch there’s always a chance. Cristiano is so good in front of goal," Ole told BT Sport.

As if that wasn’t impressive enough, Ronaldo also set a new Champions League record.

The game against Villarreal was his 178th in the tournament throughout his career.

This is one game more than previous record-holder Iker Casillas of Real Madrid.

The achievement adds to a string of records Ronaldo has already broken over the years, including being the Champions League’s top scorer…having the most goals in the knockout round and being the only player to score in three finals.

Interestingly, Ronaldo’s latest record-breaking feat comes just a day after his old rival Lionel Messi made his own headlines by scoring his first goal for PSG.

It's almost as if CR7 was sending a message to Messi, that “anything you can do, I can do better”.
