Ronaldo Becomes The First Man to Hit 800 Career Goals

Cristiano Ronaldo has given us another reminder that he’s the most prolific goal-scorer in men’s football.

He netted twice in Man United’s 3-2 EPL win over Arsenal (including the winning penalty) to bring his career tally to 801.

That makes him the first man in history to score over 800 competitive goals for club and country. He achieved this in just 1,097 matches.

In case you’ve forgotten, he is already the all-time top scorer in men’s international football and in the Champions League.

Ronaldo has now netted 130 goals for Man United (across two spells), 450 for Real Madrid, 101 for Juventus, five for Sporting Lisbon and 115 for Portugal.

And the 36-year-old is showing no signs of slowing down.

Questions have been asked about whether Ronaldo would suit the preferred pressing style of new United interim manager Ralf Rangnick.

But with the player continuing to bang in the goals left, right and center…even Rangnick will not be able to ignore the importance of having such an attacker in his team.

Time will tell what the future holds for Ronaldo at United…but there is absolutely no denying his place in the history books as the game’s greatest goal-scorer.
