Roma Win The Europa Conference League

Roma have ended their 14-year trophy drought by winning the inaugural Europa Conference League title.

The Serie A side defeated Feyenoord 1-0 in the final of Europe’s third-tier club competition, with Nicolo Zaniolo netting the only goal of the game in the first half.

This is Roma’s first major European honour, and their first trophy since the 2008 Coppa Italia.

The victory also assured manager Jose Mourinho a place in the history books.

He is now the first manager to win all of UEFA’s major trophies, having previously won the Champions League and UEFA Cup with Porto, the Champions League with Inter Milan and the Europa League with Man United.

Mourinho also maintains his perfect record of having won all five European finals that he has contested in.

No surprises then why they call him The Special One.

Roma fans can also look forward to more of Mourinho, who has pledged his immediate future to the club.

The Portuguese has been linked with several other jobs but says he will remain in Rome for now.

As for Roma, they will play in next season’s Europa League, which they qualified for courtesy of their Conference League victory, and their sixth-place finish in the Serie A.
