Police Bust Syndicate Stealing Shopee Lorries And Trucks

Police managed to bust a lorry theft and modification syndicate in the Klang Valley, which resulted with three men being arrested on Saturday (September 18th). 

According to Astro AWANI, Bukit Aman Criminal Investigation Department director, Datuk Seri Abd Jalil Hassan said all suspects aged between 39 and 41 were arrested during Op Lejang Kasuarina in Gombak, KL.

He said, in the series of raids, they also seized 12 lorries, engines and forklift trucks estimated to be worth RM2.0 million.

“During the operation, a load of lorries containing Shopee consignment items which were reported missing were also seized by police.

“The syndicate operates by stealing trucks and lorries then disposing its GPS device, modifying its chassis number as well as engine number to avoid detection before selling them or for their own personal use,” he said. 

The case will be investigated under Section 379A of the Penal Code which carries a jail term of no less than one year or no more than seven years. 

Police are now tracking down the remaining members of the syndicate and asked the public who had any information to contact ASP Md Norsham Yunus at +6019-2905965 or report it to the nearest police station!
