A beach park in Penang, Taman Rekreasi Pantai Robina (also known as Robina Eco Park) was forced to shut down after thousands of visitors were found not following the SOPs.
According to Utusan, the park will be closed for five days until September 22nd.

Seberang Perai City Council (MBSP) mayor, Datuk Rozali Mohamud in a statement said that his party had been advised to temporarily close the recreational park after a police team from the Seberang Perai Utara district police headquarters (IPD) patrolled the area.

“This is an early preventative measure to help curb the spread of COVID-19 among the Robina Eco Park visitors.
“MBSP also calls on all visitors and the public who visited this recreational park, or any recreational park in Seberang Perai, especially under the supervision of MBSP, to always comply with the SOPs set by the government,” he said.
North Seberang Perai District police chief, Assistant Commissioner Noorzainy Mohd Noor said there were between 1,000 to 2,000 visitors at the park, adding that some visitors failed to comply with the Phase 2 SOPs of the National Recovery Plan, including not wearing a face mask.
The police also found visitors who were not fully vaccinated at the location.

Following this, a special meeting was held with the MBSP mayor, North Seberang Perai District officer and District Health officer and they agreed to temporarily close the beach park to curb the spread of COVID-19.
More and more recreational spots, such as beaches and parks will be shut down if visitors continue to crowd them without adhering to the SOPs! Please be more responsible and don’t be selfish, guys…
