Malaysia is still among the top four Asian countries holding the “passport power” on the 2020 Henley Passport Index, although we did drop by one place on this year’s Global Mobility Report, compared to last year.
Other Asian countries holding the top spot – Japan, Singapore and Korea were ranked first, second and third respectively on the global index.
Japan has been on the top spot for three consecutive years as their passport holders have access to 191 countries without having to apply for a visa, while Singapore is close behind with 190 and South Korea on the third with 189 countries.
The Henley Passport Index is the original ranking of all the world’s passports, according to the number of destinations holders could access without a prior visa.
The ranking is based on data from the International Air Transport Association (IATA).
So where will you be planning to travel to next?
