The fans may love him, but it would appear that Manchester United manager, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has still not done enough to convince his bosses that he’s the right man for the job.

This, despite the Red Devils’ strong position in the Premier League and their run in the FA Cup and Europa League.

Latest reports from the UK claim that United will only start contract renewal talks with Ole after the current season is over.

The board of directors is apparently still concerned by United’s inconsistency under Solskjaer.

This includes the team’s recent league defeat to bottom club Sheffield United and their exit from the Champions League group stage.

According to insiders, the board also wants to see an improvement from last season’s third place league finish and three semifinal appearances before they offer a new contract.

The good news is that Ole appears on track to meet all those requirements.

As it stands, United are second in the EPL standings, five points behind leaders Manchester City.

They’ve also just made the quarterfinal of the FA Cup and they’re in the last-32 of the Europa League.

So far, so good then.

But any slipups between now and the end of the season could see the United board starting their search for a replacement.
