Man City have made a huge statement of intent with their impressive 4-1 win over Liverpool at Anfield.

It leaves them five points clear at the top of the EPL standings with a game in hand over their nearest rivals, Man United.
Not bad for a side that was languishing in 13th place just a few short months ago.
But its not just City’s position in the table that makes them title favourites – it is also their dominant performances of late.
This morning’s win over the Reds was their first at Anfield since 2003.
They have now won 14 matches in a row in all competitions (10 in a row in the league).
They’ve also conceded just 3 goals in their last 12 matches.
For City boss Pep Guardiola, their winning streak is also a new personal milestone.

He is now on the longest winning run of his managerial career – eclipsing the 13 successive victories during his time in charge of Bayern Munich.
And it has to be noted that City is doing all this without the injured Sergio Aguero and Kevin De Bruyne.
Guardiola, however, is not letting their current success get to his player’s heads – not with just under half the season still to go.
The Spaniard is taking a cautious approach, warning his boys that anything can happen between now and the end of the campaign.
A perfect example of this is the 2012 season – where Man United let an eight-point lead slip with six games remaining…to end up losing the league title to Man City on goal difference.
