Malaysians can contribute to the nation especially during this difficult time by donating their blood.

During the Movement Control Order (MCO), Malaysians will be allowed to donate blood at hospitals and public health clinics from 10am to 10pm, said Senior Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob.

The decision came about following a special cabinet meeting on Monday (March 27), where it was informed that reserves at the National Blood Bank had decreased by 33% since the MCO was enforced.

“The National Blood Bank had applied for approval to operate and for blood donors to travel to donate blood.”

“Following that, the meeting decided to approve the movement of blood donors to hospitals and public health clinics beginning 10am to 10pm, ” he said during his daily briefing at Putrajaya on Monday (April 27).

For more information on donating blood, visit the National Blood Bank’s website, www.pdn.gov.my, as well as on the PDN Facebook page.
