Local artist Suhaimi Ali’s recent mural of prominent Malaysian leaders in Shah Alam was smeared with red paint.
But not all of the mural is damaged, with only the faces of KDYMM Seri Paduka Baginda Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah, Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin and Health Director-General Datuk Dr. Noor Hisham smeared, while the paintings of Senior Minister (Security) Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri and Prime Minister’s Department (Religious Affairs) Senator Datuk Dr. Haji Zulkifli Mohamad Al-Bakri were left alone.
For now, the Shah Alam City Council (MBSA) has had the mural painted over with white paint completely, and investigations are underway.
It’s also understood that Suhaimi is already in talks with police on deciding on the next course of action.
