moh calling on non-moh medical volunteers to help with third wave of covid-19

Desperate times call for desperate measures…

The Health Ministry (MOH) has urged non-Ministry medical and health volunteers to come forward and help out with the third wave of COVID-19 we’re currently going through.

Health Director-General Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah took to Facebook to make the call, saying there are several positions that need filling - Medical Doctor, Microbiological Science Officer, Environmental Health Officer, Nurse, Assistant Medical Officer, Assistant Environmental Health Officer, Medical Laboratory Technician, X-ray Interpreter and Health Assistant Public.

Volunteers will be required to help conduct screenings at health facilities, international entrances and quarantine stations, and also with contact tracing and sampling investigations in the field among others.

…and this goes without saying, but you must be physically fit, have had no close contact with a COVID-19 patient, and of course, be registered with a professional body that regulates your practice.
