At this rate, we might as well just give José Mourinho the title of ‘King of the English League Cup’.

The Portuguese boss is through to a fifth final in the tournament after guiding his Tottenham side to a 2-0 win over Brentford in this morning’s semifinal.

José is now going for title number five, having won the trophy on all four previous occasions with Chelsea and Manchester United.

He’s also only the third manager in League Cup history to make it to the final with three different teams.

Victory in the final this April would be Spurs’ first title since 2008, helping Mourinho hit his KPI of ensuring the club finally wins some silverware.

It would also extend Mourinho’s record of having won a trophy at every one of his last six clubs.

Standing in Tottenham and Mourinho’s way is either Man United or Manchester City, who’ll play each other in tomorrow’s other seminal.

Victory for United will see José going up against his former side, while a win for City will ensure a Mourinho-Pep Guardiola clash.

Either way, it is going to be a blockbuster final.
