Joggers In Shah Alam Flee After Spotting Enforcement Officers At Public Park

Do you get nervous when you see enforcement officers at grocery stores or the petrol station when you’re running your errands? Because we sometimes do!

A group of residents who were jogging and exercising at Taman Tasik Seksyen 7 fleed the park after they saw a group of policemen and Shah Alam City Council (MBSA) enforcement officers.

The park is currently closed to the public during the 14-day Full Movement Control Order (FMCO).

According to the New Straits Times, the authorities who inspected the park at 7 am yesterday (June 7th) found a few stubborn residents who continued with recreational activities during the sixth day of the full lockdown.

While there are banners everywhere put up by the MBSA which read, “Movement Control Order 3.0 - All Public Parks Will Be Closed From June 1-14, 2021” at the main entrance of the park, residents nearby still come to the park for a jog!

A resident, who wants to be known as Aishah, observed that residents were still visiting the park carrying out their normal activities every morning and evening despite the implementation of the FMCO.

“Things feel normal, as if there is no MCO, because the residents here still go to the park in the morning and the evening, and the numbers keep on increasing. This is very unfair to those who comply with the SOPs, and sacrifice to stay at home like us,” she said.

The MBSA corporate and public relations division chief Shahrin Ahmad said all public parks are closed throughout the FMCO. The public are barred from entering for recreational activities to avoid a crowd from gathering.

Guys, please just stay at home! We totally agree with Aishah, it’s not fair for those who comply with the SOPs while others just don't seem to care…

We’re all in this together, stay at home and stay safe!
