Don’t do this, guys, it’s dangerous!
It is a bad idea and a dangerous one if people are trying to get infected with COVID-19 and the Omicron variant on purpose, in hopes to get natural immunity.

According to NST, the Health Ministry Khairy Jamaluddin’s message to the public was simple, “You do not want to catch COVID,” he said.
He added that it is unwise for people to assume that their case would be mild.
“It doesn’t matter which COVID-19 variant, whether it’s Omicron, Delta, Alpha or Beta.
“Do not go out to get yourself infected on purpose because firstly, we do not know the effect of COVID on people, whether unvaccinated or fully immunized as symptoms and conditions vary,” he explained.
He also said that we don’t know the risk of ‘long COVID’ in which symptoms persist for weeks or even months, after the initial diagnosis.
“Today, we might say Omicron is milder than the highly transmissible, Delta, so why not just infect everyone with Omicron on purpose to supposedly build herd immunity and get it over with?”
Well… apparently, that’s not how it works, guys!

Khairy said this had not been proven and the ministry’s advice remains that it is not safe that way, “For now, we know that the Omicron is milder, which may be a silver lining in pandemic management, but that does not mean you should go out there and get Omicron.
“It is scientifically proven that any COVID infection gives you immunity or increases your immunity, but do not use that argument to go and get infected. It’s very silly,” Khairy added.
This came after reports and social media postings of people proposing the idea of intentionally mingling with infected patients to get COVID and get the disease “out of the way.”
Okay, honestly, guys, we don’t ever want to know what it feels like to get infected with COVID. This is very irresponsible and not safe to do!
Please take care of yourself and stay safe.
