Our attention will then turn to the Vietnam SEA Games from May 12th to the 23rd. Malaysian’s are traditionally medal contenders at South East Asia’s showpiece event, so be sure to cheer on our athletes.
Fans of track and field can look forward to seeing the world’s best at the Athletics World Championships in Oregon, USA from July 15th to the 24th.
Bring out your Jalur Gemilang again from July 28th to August 8th, because some of our competitors will also be participating at the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham, England.
The action then returns closer to home with the Asian Games in Hangzhou, China from September 10th to the 25th.
The big one
The 2022 FIFA World Cup – arguably the biggest and most highly-anticipated event on the planet – takes place from November 21st to December 18th.
This will be the first ever edition not to be held in the summer months, due to the intense mid-year heat in host nation Qatar.

It will be a whole month of nearly non-stop football, so be sure to clear your schedule.
The usual suspects
In addition to the competitions mentioned above, there will also be the usual sporting events held every year.
For football…the Champions League final takes place at the end of May….just days after the Premiership season wraps up (The 2022/2023 campaign will kick off on August 6th). There is also La Liga, Serie A and Bundesliga action to keep you occupied.
In tennis, we’ll have the four Grand Slams…with the Australian Open, French Open, Wimbledon and the US Open to take place in January, May, June and August respectively.
